Project Overview
Basement Conversion for Multigenerational Living in the Stafford area – Tualatin, Oregon
Turning an Underused Basement into a Private Living Space for Family
This project features a basement conversion designed to create a comfortable multigenerational living space in the Stafford area of Tualatin, Oregon. Basement remodel completed in Tualatin, Oregon by Highland Ridge Remodeling, a local design-build remodeling contractor serving the Portland metro area. Greg and the Hellberg family wanted to create a comfortable place for Darlene to move in while still allowing everyone in the home to maintain privacy and independence. Their home had a large basement with plenty of square footage, but much of the space was unfinished and not being used to its full potential. Rather than leaving the basement as storage or unfinished space, they saw the opportunity to transform it into a fully functional living area that could support multigenerational living. The goal was to create a space that felt welcoming and independent while still being connected to the main home.
Greg and the family wanted the basement to become a comfortable private living space designed specifically for Darlene.
