Project Overview
Main-Level Living Remodel in Milwaukie, Oregon
Goal: Turning an Underused Dining Room into a Comfortable Primary Suite
This project features a thoughtful main-level remodel in Milwaukie, Oregon, designed to create a comfortable primary suite and support aging-in-place living.
Carl and Cyndy had lived in their Milwaukie home for many years. Like many homes that have been well loved over time, the layout had begun to feel less practical for the way they wanted to live moving forward.
With both of them retired, they started thinking about how their home could support a simpler and more comfortable lifestyle. The primary bedroom was located upstairs, which meant climbing stairs every day. At the same time, the home included a formal dining room on the main floor that rarely got used.
Rather than move away from the neighborhood they loved, Carl and Cyndy began exploring how the home could be remodeled to better support everyday life on one level. The overall vision was to create a space that felt natural and welcoming while supporting aging-in-place living.
